This past weekend, Bright Pink was honored to host a booth at Joining FORCES Against Hereditary Cancer conference in Tampa, FL, where we met so many incredible new Bright Pink girls. The Joining FORCEs Conference is an international program which offers general sessions and workshops on topics of interest to any individual or family with a BRCA mutation or hereditary breast and ovarian cancer and to health care providers who serve this community. The conference covered a wide range of topics which encompass all aspects of the hereditary cancer experience. At the conference, we were able to meet the incredible and beautiful Jessica Queller, writer/producer from "Gossip Girl" and author of the memoir Pretty is What Changes, and see the debut of In The Family which is an incredible documentary that follows several individuals as they learn and cope with being at high risk. Each of the 400+ individuals who attended the conference were all on their own personal journeys to take control of the aspects of their health that they could, in fact, control. But with supportive communities like Bright Pink and FORCE, no one has to face their individual journey alone. And for me, that was the best part of it all!
