WE ARE BRIGHT PINK
Samantha
The impact breast cancer has had on my life has been tremendous. In the summer of 2005, my cousin was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 42. At the time of her diagnosis, the cancer had already spread to her lungs. Although she remained strong and optimistic, her life was taken all to fast. From that point on, I vowed to actively volunteer to raise awareness amongst young women on breast cancer and the importance of getting to know your body. In memory of mycousin, I continue to remain passionate for the cause through work with Susan G Komen for the Cure's Young Women's National Advisory Council and Grand Valley State University's Colleges Against Cancer. Educating and empowering other young women my age has certainly turned into my lifelong passion.
